When renting an apartment, understand if your roommate decides to move out when the lease expires, you could get affected financially if you factored in your roommates share of the apartment rent when you moved in. Best option to do would be before you sign the lease, make sure you can afford the rent solely, so that way you will know if you decide to get a roommate, they won't affect you financially if they decide to leave.
